Arts Attack Gallery Show This Thursday, Dec. 3rd!
 Please join us this Thursday, December 3rd, from 6pm to 8pm, in the Multi-Purpose Room, where you will see what special piece of artwork every child has created for this event.
Come walk the walls of art, all created by the children of JF Smith, enjoy some relaxing music and sophisticated refreshments. Your child will be so proud to show off their creativity. This is a wonderful time to show your children that what they accomplish at school is important to you. It is also a lovely event to invite grandparents and other family members to.
Optional framing for your child's art work will be available at $5, $15, or $20, depending on the frame you choose. This is not a fundraiser and every child's art will be sent home with them the following day.
We need volunteers from 12:45pm the day of the event to help set up and hang all the art pieces (over 800!). We also need 5 or 6 volunteers during the 6-8pm show time. Please contact Tracy Wilkinson at tw69@sbcglobal.net if you can help.

Winter Festival December 11th, 6:30pm
The JFS Annual Winter Festival is a celebration of winter holidays in song and dance, performed by our kindergarten through sixth grades. The students participating have been working hard on their individual grade level performances in an after school program for weeks. The result should be spectacular. Please join us on Friday, DECEMBER 11th, at 6:30pm. This is a FREE event so come and join us!
VOLUNTEERS STILL WANTED:
· Stage set up on the day of the show - 3pm-4pm
· Technical Assistants for audio/visual equipments
· Front/Backstage crew (during the show)
· Clean up crew (After the show)
· Decoration clean-up (few days after the show)
PLEASE, DO NOT BE SHY TO VOLUNTEER. THE WINTER FESTIVAL COMMITTEE NEEDS YOUR HELP TO ENSURE A SUCCESSFUL SHOW FOR OUR KIDS. REMEMBER, "IT TAKES A VILLAGE TO RAISE A CHILD."
NO VIDEO TAPING is allowed on the night of the show. Instead, a Professional Videographer has been hired. So, DON'T MISS OUT, be sure to PRE-ORDER your Video for $10. Make a check payable to JFS PTA with your child's and Teacher's name, plus his/her room #.
Stay after the show to congratulate the cast and crew and enjoy some refreshments together.

Fall Book Fair A Success Due to Volunteers!
The Fall Book Fair was another great success due to the tremendous amount of volunteer help. We grossed over $12,000 of which about $2,800 will go directly to the PTA to support science, music and art programs for all students. Events such as this would not be possible if it weren't for the incredible amount of parent dedication and teacher and staff support. We would like to thank all of the families, teachers and staff for making this event so fun and enjoyable!

| Annual PTA "Reflections" Results
We would like to thank all the participants in our Annual Reflections program. The theme this year was "Beauty is..." and a total of 48 entries were received. The children put in great effort conveying their thoughts and all the entries were very impressive. Congratulations to all the students who participatd! They will be recognized at the Honors Assembly at the end of the school year.

Under the Tuscan Moon, February 5th, 2010!
Save the date and join us for our annual Dinner/Auction being held again at the beautiful Ranch Golf Club on February 5th, 2010. Tickets will go on sale in early January for $50 each.
We will have a live auction and huge silent auction that will include classroom baskets, items and gift certificates from local companies, and the always popular Teacher Times. Great deals are sure to be found and it all benefits our children's education.
Volunteers and Sponsors Needed! There are many jobs involved in making this event a success, and any help you can offer would be greatly appreciated. Also, we are looking for individuals and businesses to sponsor our event, as well as material donations for the auction.
